Curtain making process
We specialise in making handmade curtains because it gives the customer the best end results. With handmade curtains and blinds each layer of fabric is interlinked with invisible interlocking stitches, corners are mitred and weights are placed inside the curtains to improve how they drape when hung. Inserting interlining and weights into a machine made curtain results in bulky and untidy corners and edges due to the necessary order and method of construction.
Roman blinds also really benefit from being made by hand. A machine made roman blind will have stitches at every rod point which, within a year or two of use, will pucker and distort the fabric leaving the blinds looking old and tired. A handmade roman blind will not have any stitching on the face fabric meaning the fabric you have invested in and carefully chosen will not be compromised and look like new for many years.
Once your drapes, blinds and tracks are ready we will arrange installation with our installers. The entire process takes approximately three to five weeks from measuring to installation.
